Gas Manifold Systems for Acetylene
Some applications require an Acetylene pressure of more than 1.5bar.
Flame spraying is one example for an application requiring a constant acetylene pressure of 1.5bar or even more. From technical point of view, it is not possible to realize a constant 1.5bar Acetylene supply with a one-stage regulator. Owing to its design, the outlet pressure of a one-stage regulator rises when the filling pressure of the connected cylinders or bundles turns to empty. According to the safety regulations the regulators are set to ensure that the maximum outlet pressure cannot exceed 1.5bar. By reducing the pressure of a cylinder or bundle in two stages and choosing a safety device with a sufficient flow capacity, a constant pressure of 1.5bar Acetylene can be realized. If a working pressure of more than 1.5bar is required, it is mandatory that besides the safety device all units installed downstream the regulators are suitable for Acetylene working pressures of more than 1.5bar.

IBEDA supplies mobile gas manifold stations for Oxygen as well as tapping points and gas distributors for Oxygen. Furthermore, IBEDA offers mobile gas manifolds for Acetylene, gas supply stations for Propan, gas manifold systems for Hydrogen and other technical, non-aggressive gases, such as Ethene and natural gas. Additionally, IBEDA supplied mobile gas manifold systems for CO2, tapping points and gas distributors for Nitrogen, Helium, CO2 and gas mixtures which are used for shielding gas welding (MIG/MAG, WIG), such as Argon/Helium and Argon/CO2.
The mobile gas manifold stations for Acetylene meet the safety related requirements as per the standard DIN EN 14114. These requirements are also valid for the stationary Acetylene manifolds. The equipment includes safety devices according to EN 730-1 at the outlet (decomposition arrestor) as well as a quick-action shut-off valve according to DIN EN 15615 in the high-pressure part downstream the pressure regulator. A manual shut-off valve is used with cylinder couplings up to 6 Acetylene cylinders.
Stationary gas manifold systems and tapping points
IBEDA supplies mobile gas manifold stations and tapping points for Oxygen as well as for the fuel gases Acetylene, Propane, Hydrogen, Ethene and natural gas. Furthermore, IBEDA gas manifolds systems and tapping points are available for Nitrogen, Helium, CO2 and gas mixtures which are used for shielding gas welding (MIG/MAG, WIG), such as Argon/Helium and Argon/CO2. The gas supply stations are suitable for inlet pressures of 25 bar Acetylene and up to 300 bar for Oxygen or high-compressed, non-corrosive gases from bundles or cylinders.
The stationary gas manifolds for Acetylene meet the safety related requirements as per the standard DIN EN 14114. So they include an automatic quick-action shut-off valve downstream the regulator and a safety devices according to EN 730-1 (decomposition arrestor) at the outlet of the pressure regulator. Furthermore, the IBEDA gas supply stations for Acetylene and technical gases are BAM certified.
The IBEDA pressure regulating stations are available as single-sided manifold (simultaneous gas withdrawal from all cylinders or bundles connected) as well as manifold with manual switch-over. Contact gauge and alarm device available on request.
Gas manifold systems with automatic switch-over
Apart from the single-sided gas supply stations and the gas manifolds with manual switch-over, IBEDA supplies systems with automatic change-over ensuring the continuous gas supply. These automatic switch-over manifolds are suitable for Oxygen, for the fuel gases Acetylene, Hydrogen, Ethene, natural gas as well as for Nitrogen, Helium, CO2 and gas mixtures which are common for shielding gas welding (MIG/MAG, WIG), for example Argon/Helium and Argon/CO2. The IBEDA gas manifold systems with automatic change-over unit are suitable for inlet pressures up to 25 bar Acetylene or 300 bar Oxygen and other technical gases, supplied from cylinders or bundles.
The IBEDA gas manifolds systems with mechanical or pneumatic change-over unit are supplied with contact gauge and alarm device which optically and acoustically indicates the need to change the cylinder or the bundle once the manifold switched-over. The pneumatic change-over manifold is not available for Acetylene. The automatic manifold system with electrical switch-over unit is working with solenoid valves where the change-over pressure can be adjusted at the contact gauge.
The automatic gas supply stations for Acetylene meet the safety related requirements as per the standard DIN EN 14114. So they include an automatic quick-action shut-off valve downstream the regulator and a safety devices according to EN 730-1 (decomposition arrestor) at the outlet of the pressure regulator.
Gas tapping points – stationery, mobile and special tapping points
Tapping points are used for the gas withdrawal from a ring line at the respective work places (single work place supply) in the central gas supply. Due to the possible combination of individual components, the modular system can be used for almost all technical gases and for different pressure ranges.
The gas supply at cutting machines or large heating burners can be realised easily by selecting the proper design (such as tapping point E10).
Tapping points E1, E1AL, and E10 are intended for wall installations.
The IBEDA tapping points are equipped with a shut-off valve, and are usually used with a pressure regulator matched to the gas type. Furthermore, appropriate safety devices are used for fuel gas and oxygen (flashback arrestors). As an option, and in order to make the operation easier, IBEDA quick-action couplings can be installed.
Wall brackets are available that allow the installation of one and up to four tapping points. Upon request, special combinations can be offered. Depending on the requirements, tapping points for different types of gases can be combined on one multiple bracket.
IBEDA tapping points are supplied with brazing or welding nipple appropriate for the respective connection to the ring line. Special tapping points, e.g., in panel form or mobile tapping distribution units (gas distributors), can be offered upon request and manufactured according to customer specifications.
